Dr Peter Puhl is a compassionate and experienced neurologist with expertise in a broad range of neurological conditions, with special interest in headaches and movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease.
Dr Puhl is highly experienced in use of botulinum toxin in neurological conditions, including headache, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), hemifacial spasm, dystonia and spasticity. He is a skilled neurophysiologist performing nerve conduction studies, electromyography and other electrophysiological investigations.
Dr Puhl graduated from the University of Kiel, Germany. He completed most of his postgraduate training in Australia, in addition to 2 years of neurology training at the University Hospital in Lübeck, Germany. He obtained further subspecialty training in neuromuscular medicine and the use of botulinum toxin at Concord General Repatriation Hospital in Sydney.
Dr Puhl is currently the Head of the Neurology Department at the Sydney Adventist Hospital. He is actively involved in teaching of medical students from the Australian National University, as well as training of junior doctors.
Dr Puhl is fluent in English and German.
