Dr Jessica Qiu is a caring and experienced neurologist with expertise in a broad range of neurological conditions, with a special interest in movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and dystonia.
Dr Qiu is highly experienced in the treatment of neurological conditions with a special interest in movement disorders. She is highly experienced in use of toxin in neurological conditions, including dystonia, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, sialorrhoea and headache. She is one of the few neurologists in Australia utilising ultrasound guided injections for cervical dystonia, and has subspecialty experience with device-assisted therapies for Parkinson’s disease including infusional and neuromodulation techniques.
Dr Qiu is currently a Staff Specialist at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. She is part of the Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) team at the SAN and Westmead. She regularly collaborates with paediatric neurologists and geneticists to discuss cases at multidisciplinary meetings. She is actively involved in teaching of medical students from the Australian National University and University of Sydney, as well as training of junior doctors.
Dr Qiu’s research has been published in well-regarded journals including the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, the European Journal of Neurology and Movement Disorders Clinical Practice. Dr Qiu is also actively leading clinical research initiatives at Concord Hospital in the field of movement disorders. Dr Qiu is fluent in English and Mandarin.
