Dr Sameen Haque
Consultant Neurologist
Dr Sameen Haque is a Consultant Neurologist with subspecialty expertise and interests in Neuromuscular and Neurogenetic Disorders, including Mitochondrial Disease, Clinical Neurophysiology and therapeutic use of Botox for neurological disorders.
She also has interest in Multiple Sclerosis and neuroinflammatory conditions, headaches and general neurology as well as management of neurological disorders during pregnancy.
Sameen completed her basic physician training at Westmead Hospital in 2014, followed by advanced Neurology training at Nepean and The Canberra Hospitals, gaining comprehensive experience in acute and general neurology.
She undertook a dedicated Neuromuscular Fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital in 2017, with a focus on clinical neurophysiology and the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular and neurogenetic conditions. During this time, she also gained experience in the care of patients with Multiple Sclerosis through neuroimmunology clinics.
She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Sydney and has completed a PhD investigating the healthcare burden and clinical drivers of resource use in adults with Mitochondrial Disease. Her research contributes to understanding the complexity of this multisystem neurogenetic disorder and guiding improvements in clinical management.
Sameen is currently a Staff Specialist Neurologist at Nepean Hospital, where she also leads the Neurophysiology service. She is actively involved in medical education and clinical supervision of neurology advanced trainees, junior doctors and medical students. Sameen is also engaged in research projects and clinical trials in the Nepean neurology department.
